Project Spotlight

Crime Alert Service

The VPD’s Crime Alert Service is a free service that sends updates on crime in an individual’s neighbourhood (based on their postal code) to their email account. This web-based service facilitates crime alerts to both residents and businesses in Vancouver.

Award Funding Process

The Vancouver Police Foundation meets annually to review and consider proposals submitted for projects.

Awards are granted for projects that comply with the Foundation’s charter and promote programs of research and education relating to law enforcement, encourage public participation in law enforcement, emphasize the role of the police in the community, and encourage community awareness of the problems of crime and crime prevention.

The Vancouver Police Foundation’s funds are only granted to projects under the direct control of the Vancouver Police Department.
