It’s hard to believe that 2012 is already upon us. The past few months have been busy for the Vancouver Police Foundation.
2011 marked a changing of guard for the board. After three successful years in the role, Peter Armstrong stepped down as Chair. He will continue on as a Trustee. We are very grateful for his contributions to the organization and the time that he has dedicated to our cause.
It is my honour to accept the role of Chair and continue in his footsteps. I look forward to leading the Foundation as we seek to grow our donor base and create a lasting endowment fund.
This fall we held events for members of our Chief’s Circle and for our Trustees. These events offered an up-close look at how their contributions are making a difference for the VPD.
Currently we are working on new ways to engage our donors and attract new members. This week we launched a new website and over the coming months we will be rolling out additional communications tools with the aim of raising awareness and funds. Keep an eye out, and let us know what you think.
The programs that we fund save lives, prevent crime, and help apprehend suspects. With your continued support, we can provide the VPD with resources to go beyond the call.
The Vancouver Police Foundation supports programs and initiatives that fall under one of four pillars: Youth Programs, Mental Health & Addictions, Community Outreach & Engagement, and Technology & Special Equipment. You can help build a safer Vancouver by donating to the Vancouver Police Foundation.
