Chief Chu Thanks VPF Members for Successful Riot Poster Campaign

The Vancouver Police Department’s Chief Constable Jim Chu recently sent the Vancouver Police Foundation a letter thanking all Foundation Members for the VPF’s contribution to the Integrated Riot Investigation Team’s massive poster campaign. On March 8, 2012 70,000 were posters handed out in less than 12 hours across 19 cities in 75 locations, by over 400 volunteers and police officers in an effort to help the VPD identify more rioters and bring them to justice. Since the poster was released, members of the public have sent in more than 370 tips.

“To date, we have recommended 432 criminal charges against 150 rioters, and with your continued support we expect to see many more charges announced in the near future. Thank you once again for your outstanding contributions and sense of civic duty,” said Chief Chu.
