The Vancouver Police Department (VPD), in partnership with the Foundation, unveiled the state-of-art new Mobile Command Centre (MCC) on June 13, 2013 in Stanley Park. The MCC will be a valuable resource, helping the VPD coordinate effective deployment, tactical support, search operations, communication needs and add extra protection to the citizens of Vancouver and the members of the VPD, at the most crucial of times. The purchase of the MCC was made possible through the generous support of the Vancouver Police Foundation members and donors, and was funded in part by a $500,000 grant from the VPF.
The unveiling of the Mobile Command Centre received great media coverage, providing exposure of not only the programs and initiatives that the Vancouver Police Foundation funds, but demonstrating our commitment to the City and continual support of the VPD. The VPF and VPD are working together to go “Beyond the Call”.
