The Vancouver Police Foundation recently announced that it has awarded over $609,000 in grants to successful applicants for 2014. The grants, disbursed to projects under the direct control of the Vancouver Police Department, or to an outside organization that has developed a strong relationship with the VPD, are meant to fund a wide range of community policing and outreach programs not covered by the annual operating budget of the department.
A complete list of the 2014 funded projects can be viewed here. View photos of the Grant Awards Ceremony on Flickr.
The Vancouver Police Foundation supports programs and initiatives that fall within three streams: community outreach and engagement (including programs for women, youth and seniors); public and personal safety; and specialized equipment and technology.
