New Honour for VPF Chair Peter Brown

We would like to congratulate VPF Chairman Mr. Peter Brown on his recent appointment as the Honorary Chief Constable of the Vancouver Police Department.

Mr. Brown has been instrumental in growing support and raising donations for the Vancouver Police Foundation that have funded youth crime prevention programs such as KidSafe, The Boys Club Network, VPD Student Challenge, the Police Athletic League and the new VPD Cadet Program.

Taking inspiration from military tradition dating from 1895 where distinguished Canadian citizens have been appointed as honorary colonels to regiments, Chief Chu decided to reach back in history and do something that was only done once before in the VPD’s history – invite Peter Brown to be the Honorary Chief Constable of the Vancouver Police Department.

Mr. Brown will be publicly recognized in a ceremony at the Annual Police Ball on October 25th.

The Vancouver Police Foundation supports programs and initiatives that fall under one of four pillars: Youth Programs, Mental Health & Addictions, Community Outreach & Engagement, and Technology & Special Equipment.
