Right now, two initiatives need your support.
This September, 90 young people will begin the VPD Cadet Program, a proven leadership experience that helps youth discover confidence, purpose and possibility.
At the same time, nearly 100 Community Grants are ready to launch, giving Vancouver Police officers the resources to solve problems they’ve identified on the front lines.
Together, these programs don’t just respond to challenges, they help prevent them.
The VPD Cadet Program gives young people the confidence, leadership skills and mentorship to become the best version of themselves.
Cadets leave with stronger leadership skills, lifelong friendships and a clearer vision for their future. Last year’s graduating class represented 31 schools, 30 cultural backgrounds and 29 languages.
Even more remarkable, 100% planned to pursue post-secondary education; more than double the provincial average.

When Jasleen Bahia joined the VPD Cadet Program as a teenager, she was looking for an opportunity to grow.
She found confidence, leadership and a lasting commitment to serving her community. Those experiences helped her earn scholarships to complete university, and build a career dedicated to public service.
But the story didn’t end there.
Remembering what the Cadet Program had given her, Jasleen saw local boys struggling during the transition into high school and decided to help.
With support from a Vancouver Police Foundation Community Grant, she created Elevate, a mentorship program that gives vulnerable youth the guidance, life skills and positive role models they need to thrive.
In its first year, Elevate supported 37 boys, delivered 390 hours of mentorship, and served more than 1,000 nutritious meals.
Your support didn’t just change Jasleen’s future. It helped her change the future for others.
