Bring Your Idea to Life

Every year, the Vancouver Police Foundation invites VPD officers and civilian professionals to submit ideas for programs, equipment, or initiatives that will make Vancouver safer for all.

We believe the best ideas come from you, the people who know this city, its communities, and the challenges they face. Whether your idea is big or small, community-based or internally focused, we’re here to help make it possible.

Through our annual VPF Grant Program, we provide funding for innovative, VPD-led initiatives that fall under three main categories:.

Community Outreach & Engagement
Programs that build trust and connection between police and community.

Public & Personal Safety
Initiatives that enhance safety for residents, visitors, and officers.

Technology & Equipment
New tools or resources that help you serve effectively and safely

Since 1976, the Foundation has helped bring hundreds of member-led ideas to life from youth mentorship programs like Her Time and Elevate, to community safety initiatives like Strathcona Bike Smart and Scam Prevention for Seniors, to specialized training and equipment for our Canine, Mounted, Marine Units and more.

When you apply for a VPF Grant, you’re joining a long tradition of VPD officers and civilian professionals who saw a need, took action, and made a lasting difference.

Grant Application Checklist

Review the Grant Application Instructions (there is a long form package for those who would like more context and a short form package for a quick overview and key points)
Download the PDF Grant Application Form
Submit your application during the Grant Window to grants@vancouverpolicefoundation.org
Your proposal will be reviewed through the VPD Chain of Command
The VPF Grant Committee will evaluate all applications and recommend successful projects for funding
Final approval is made by the VPF Board of Trustees and all applicants will be contacted by March 13, 2026
