Outfitting Youth with the Right Stuff

Christmas came early for 40 young members of the Vancouver Police Soccer Club.

For the last five years, through community support and funding from the Police Foundation, the Club has provided new cleats, shin pads and socks for young players who do not have the means to purchase their own.  This year, the Club partnered with MoreSports to provide the equipment. The kids were fitted for their near gear by store staff and VPD volunteers. A few weeks later, after the orders came in, they were presented with their new equipment. The excitement in the room was amazing. Adding to the fun was a generous addition of a brand new soccer ball…courtesy of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC!

Daniel Frankel, CEO of the Tap and Barrel, has been generously supporting this event for five years. Daniel and his entire family come and distribute meals to the kids…thank you Daniel and family!
