Community Champions

Our last update on the amazing Community Champions that continue to show their support, respect and appreciation for the VPD officers on the #frontline of the pandemic was nearly a month ago! We’ve been so busy receiving and distributing donations since then we’re a bit behind giving this huge shout out of thanks.

Sarah and her business partner Natalie of Boheme Goods and Arrei Collective donated 200 sustainable masks that have the option to add an N95 filter. Qiang Zhang donated 200 surgical masks that are being used by frontline officers and AXON donated an entire pallet of hand sanitizer!

Several companies and individuals donated comforts to members that were well-received. Clif Bars donated the very popular protein and energy bars for every single officer.

The lovely staff and volunteers from Mr. Gold’s Gelato brought lots of their products, including low-sugar, vegan friendly and dairy-free in a range of flavours. We can assure you first-hand that they were delicious! 😋. Swiss Bakery stopped by with some yummy snacks and WinWin Chicken brought enough fried chicken, steamed rice and gravy for every officer on shift that day. A partnership between Meadow Fresh Dairy, Kids Play Foundation and Happy Planet donated 800 cartons of juices and smoothies. And lastly, Bath & Body Works donated a range of delightful products for members to keep them clean and moisturized.

We want to especially acknowledge the Sandman Vancouver City Centre, who not only made washrooms available just for VPD members on shift over the past month, but stopped by with some wonderful snacks as part of their #100ActsofKindness initiative.

THANK YOU again to our entire community for your big hearts, generosity and for stepping up – even when facing your own challenges. Let’s support these amazing organizations and #buylocal. #backingtheblue #strongertogether #covid19
