2025 CANINE UNIT CALENDAR:

The 2025 Canine calendar is a 13-month calendar featuring images of all 16 VPD Canine Unit dogs and their handlers. We would like to thank Hero’s Welcome, Grouse Mountain Resort, The Skys No Limit – Girls Fly Too!, Canadian Coast Guard Sea Island Hovercraft Base, and Talon Helicopters who supported calendar photography.

All proceeds directly support BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and the BC Cancer Foundation. Since 2010, the calendar has raised nearly $600,000 dollars for BC Children’s Hospital and the BC Cancer Foundation. The Canine calendar was originally created in 2010 in honor of the late Candy Anfield, who passed away from cancer.

Special thank you to Constables Dennis Jesus, Chris Hudson, Allan Bridges, and Vanessa Hallaway who champion this project from the Canine Unit.

Every year, the canine calendar includes a story of a child who has been a beneficiary of funds raised. This year we share the story of Teagan, who at 13 years old, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of cancer that affects bones or soft tissue. Teagan and their family are thankful to have had the pediatric oncology experts at Children’s Hospital to support their cancer journey.

Also featured is VPD Sergeant Dayne Campbell who has been a dedicated participant in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Cops for Cancer program for over 15 years. His commitment deepened after his 16-year-old daughter, Rebecca, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, prompting her to undergo intense treatment at BC Children’s Hospital. Inspired by his daughter’s battle, Dayne embarked on a solo cross-country cycling tour in 2024, raising over $60,000 to support pediatric cancer research while Rebecca continues her recovery.

The calendar cover features Constable Jesse Schellenberg and his partner PSD Jade. Schellenberg and Jade were recently featured in a VPF story, where Schellenberg credits PSD Jade with saving his life. View the full story here.

2025 MOUNTED UNIT CALENDAR:

2025 marks the second year of the VPD Mounted Unit Calendar, featuring all nine VPD horses and their riders, plus adorable barn-cat, PC Cheddar. The Vancouver Police Mounted Unit, established in 1908, patrols Stanley Park and the city of Vancouver on horseback. In addition to community and ceremonial events, they expertly manage crowds and enhance public safety.

All proceeds from the Mounted Unit calendar will directly support the Vancouver Police Foundation in our efforts to fund VPD officer-initiated programs that enhance community safety and engagement. With over $14.5 million provided to nearly 300 programs since 1976, the VPF funds initiatives led by dedicated VPD officers who identify gaps and needs in Vancouver’s neighbourhoods.

Special thank you to Constables Sean Farrell and Kayla Pughe who champion this project from the Mounted Unit.

The Vancouver Police Foundation supports programs and initiatives that fall within three streams: community outreach and engagement (including programs for women, youth and seniors); public and personal safety; and specialized equipment and technology.
