The Vancouver Police Foundation recently announced that it has awarded over $300,000 in grants to successful applicants for 2013. The grants, disbursed to projects under the direct control of the Vancouver Police Department, or to an outside organization that has developed a strong relationship with the VPD, are meant to fund a wide range of community policing and outreach programs not covered by the annual operating budget of the department.
Grants are reviewed and awarded subject to the following criteria:
Innovation
Police Leadership
Creative Use of Technology
Best Police Practices
Policing Issues
