Lunch With The Chief

Lunch with the Chief is an important initiative that connects residents of the Downtown Eastside with Chief Constable Adam Palmer as well as many senior members of the VPD. It has helped to build strong bridges between the police and the DTES and has seen the creation of strong and meaningful friendships.

This year’s final Lunch with the Chief was held on November 30, 2018 at the Carnegie Centre. Elder Bruce Robinson provided a moving opening prayer, while Ian Bee and friends shared two Indigenous songs. Special Municipal Constable Matthew St. James was also on hand to share his experiences with the VPD, including the Indigenous Cadet Program.

A special thank you to members of the Vancouver Police Board and the VPD Information Management Section who generously donated socks which were given away at the lunch.

The Vancouver Police Foundation is proud to support this event, held four times a year, and would like to acknowledge the generosity of Foundation Trustee, Jeff Duncan, for his personal support of this initiative!
