We continue to be humbled by the outpouring of support from our community. Even when things are so uncertain, and scary, so many people have stepped up to support the VPD and First Responders in general.
This week, Shivam Jaiswal and the Chai Wagon dropped off a lot of yummy chai tea. For a week that was on the chilly side, this warmed up hands and hearts. We also love the handmade sign!
The Donnelly Group delivered some yummy pizzas and wanted to be sure that every officer working that day got some.
Huge thanks to Jeff Billick and his team who put a lot of love into making this ‘za.
Thank you to Kerryn Mellin and Tim Hortons Broadway & Fir for the delicious donuts and coffee.
More much-needed PPE was delivered as well. One of the gifts we were so touched by was from Rishabh Singh and Owl Drugs. The Owl Drugs pharmacy is located at Main and Hastings Street. Even when we’re not in the middle of a global pandemic, Owl Drugs is at ground zero for Vancouver’s deadly opioid crisis. PPE is needed daily there, but Rishabh made a significant donation from his just-received order. What makes this even more amazing is that by the time he was ready to make the delivery to VPD headquarters, he had increased the amount of all the donated products, which included masks, gloves, soap and hand sanitizer. At a time when these supplies are extremely difficult to come by, this selflessness is extraordinary.
A huge thank you to the Chinese Benevolent Association who donated several thousand surgical masks! The CBA is one of our city’s oldest non-profits and has been essential in building friendships and providing support to our community.
If you would like to make a donation to support VPD members, please click here. While your cash gifts allow us to be the most responsive to VPD’s changing needs, we’re also here to talk to you about your gifts of products or services. Please reach out to us by clicking here.
THANK YOU again to our entire community for your big hearts, generosity and for stepping up – even when facing your own challenges. Let’s support these amazing organizations and buy local!
